Ten years ago, Sydney mum Megan Maack’s world fell apart after she was told both her young children, then aged two and four, had a rare terminal illness. A disease with no known cure that would progressively take away their words, mobility, learnt skills and ability to communicate and most likely end their lives as teenagers. Eastern Suburbs Mums are being invited to join SeeBeyondBorders at their International Literacy Day event on September 7th to raise awareness and funds for children in Cambodia.  What do SeeBeyondBorders do?  We mentor and train teachers, introduce technology, work with local communities and run maths and literacy programs to keep children engaged and in school.  Across our programs for grades 1-3 students, we see an average increase from 37% to 72% in maths and literacy achievement standards.  We are urgently trying to reach new schools in Siem Reap Province, where quality education is needed most.  Did you know?
