New Reformer Pilates Studio Coming to Des Renford Leisure Centre

There’s a new fitness option on the way for Eastern Suburbs mums, with Des Renford Leisure Centre (DRLC) in Maroubra getting its own dedicated Reformer Pilates Studio. Randwick City Council is expanding the centre’s health and wellbeing facilities with a new purpose-built studio in DRLC’s ground-level atrium. The project was approved by Council in February 2025 and will feature 13 reformer beds, creating a dedicated space for small-group Reformer Pilates classes. Sometimes it takes a visitor to remind you just how lucky we are. They’ll stop to photograph the view you’ve driven past hundreds of times. They’ll get excited about seeing a kookaburra in the park, stare at the ocean from the Coastal Walk and ask, almost incredulously, “Do you actually come here all the time?” And the answer is… yes. When you’re juggling school lunches, swimming lessons, missing hats, weekend sport, grocery shopping and the seemingly impossible task of getting everyone out the door on time, it’s easy to forget that our children’s ordinary childhood is actually pretty extraordinary. So…

The Home Improvements That Can Make Family Life Easier Every Day

Some home improvements look impressive when they are finished but barely change how a family lives. Then there are the less glamorous changes that suddenly make mornings easier, give everyone somewhere to put their things, or stop the kitchen from becoming a traffic jam at dinner time. That is the difference between renovating for appearance and renovating for everyday life. A family home has to cope with school bags, muddy shoes, laundry, groceries, toys, work, homework and the occasional pile of things nobody knows where to put. If your house keeps getting in the way of those routines, a few…
