Residents encouraged to make a submission to bus inquiry

Randwick City residents are being encouraged to share their experiences about local bus services as part of a NSW Government Inquiry into the privatisation of bus services. To make a submission, visit the parliament.nsw.gov.au website. In October 2019, the NSW Government announced the planned privatisation of Sydney’s remaining public bus routes including in the eastern suburbs. In December 2021, significant changes were made to bus services in the eastern suburbs with 25 bus routes removed and 23 bus routes modified. The NSW Upper House has established an inquiry into the privatisation of bus services. Covid heroes honoured at Coogee

Street banners honouring some of the pandemic’s unsung heroes including supermarket and outdoor workers are flying high in Coogee. The banners feature brightly coloured original artworks titled ‘The Fabric of Society’ created by local artist Sandra Cipriotti and are funded as part of Randwick City Council’s Community Creative Investment Program. Also featured on the banners are images depicting other COVID related occupations such as doctors, nurses, paramedics, police, health care workers, cleaners and the humble council worker.
