“Originally a lawyer, Bakulia was busy climbing the corporate ladder, working in-house in a private investment fund when she realised that her entrepreneurial and creative sides needed an outlet.
Her desire to own her own business as well as her obsession with fresh flowers resulted in what seemed like an endless search for the perfect blooms that can last through Australian heat.
“There really is no wrong occasion to give someone flowers,” she says. “Flowers create an amazing atmosphere and inspire positive emotions that we should treat each other with more often.”
Taking this love for spreading positivity, Bakulia started a side-project with her florist sister, selling flowers as gifts, which quickly became the Insta-famous boutique, Fleur du Luxe.
“I believe our attention to detail is the key factor,” she explains. “
All our arrangements come in beautiful hat boxes, inspired by iconic Parisian fashion houses. We also use the highest quality floral supplies and only the most perfect beautiful roses, lilies and hydrangeas to ensure every single arrangement is immaculate.”
It’s elements like these that make Fleur du Luxe arrangements a popular gift for literally any occasion, and it’s no surprise that a few big names have fallen in love with the boutique too.
After a year and a half treating Fleur Du Luxe as a side business/hobby, Bakulia finally had the courage to quit her full time corporate job, move to Bondi and immerse herself in the world of flowers. Now as a mother of two young children, Bakulia gets to enjoy the work life balance, making other people’s day by delivering her gorgeous creations.
