Newmarket Fair to light up Randwick from ‘dawn to dusk’ this April

Newmarket Randwick will be transformed into a ‘dawn to dusk’ spectacle of wellness, florals, live music, wine tasting and glowing light installations as they launch the first Newmarket Fair, running from Thursday 28th April to Sunday 1st May. The four-day festivities will give locals of all ages a chance to explore and taste all that Newmarket and its food and beverage retailers have to offer, along with an exciting list of activities and pop-up market stalls in support of local and small businesses. Come and join to plant a native shrub in Sydney Park. Everyone is welcome to help restore native vegetation at this community planting event in Sydney Park. You’ll help with the City of Sydney’s efforts to restore 14 hectares of bushland for native conservation and biodiversity protection. Please dress sun-safe. The Anzac biscuit is a national treasure for Australians and New Zealanders. It’s a recipe shaped by the soldiers who so bravely fought for us in war, and by those back home who rallied behind them. Originally, the Anzac biscuit was designed to travel well over several weeks at sea, so the recipe didn’t feature eggs, golden syrup or coconut. Rescued Juvenile Turtles Avalon, Warnie & Cuttler Begin Their New Lives

Sydney, 21 April 2022 – SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium has proudly released three, now healthy, juvenile turtles, Avalon the Hawksbill Sea Turtle and Warnie and Cuttler, two Loggerhead Turtles, back into the ocean, at Zenith Beach, Port Stephens, NSW. Avalon, the Hawksbill Sea Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), a species listed as critically endangered, was found washed up on Avalon Beach in Sydney’s Northern Beaches on 18th November 2020, by a member of the public who called the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium rescue hotline. The juvenile was in very poor condition, weighing only 3.8kgs, extremely malnourished and underweight, dehydrated and lethargic, with…
