After a few years of disruption the wonder of Christmas Lights returns to the Eastern Suburbs.  It’s often one of the favourite Christmas rituals that you can do as a family so we have put together a list of local streets in Sydney’s east that showcase some great lights 

That the kids will love and there is nothing better when you see their faces literally light up with the magic creations so many have done.

Here is our 2023 Local Eastern Suburbs guide to the best Christmas lights in Sydney’s East, (please note these are subject to change and not guaranteed we rely on word of mouth !!)

BONDI 

Avoca and Waratah Ave offer a spectacle, it’s one of Sydney’s most popular streets for Christmas Lights.

 

BOTANY/PAGEWOOD 

  • Page Street between Wentworth and the bridge before you cross into Botany.
  • Woodstock Street, Botany.
  • Fremlin Street, Botany they are also raising money for Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation.
  • Myrtle Street, Botany.

 

SOUTH COOGEE

Torrington Road, Storey Street area.

 

CLOVELLY

71 Arden Street there is a large house with an amazing display. 

Surfside Ave up to Campbell Street and around Boundary Street.

 

MASCOT

Several streets around Mascot include Coward Street, Alfred Street and David Street.

 

RANDWICK

In Frederick Street there is a great traditional of this small street really showcasing great displays.  It’s also a dedication from a former resident who passed away who started the tradition of this street and their amazing lights.   It’s a really nice atmosphere too, best to either slowly drive down with kids or park on Oberon Street and walk up to get into the great vibe on this street.

Dangar Street near the playground and a really stunning display.

HILLSDALE

If you drive near Beauchamp  Road and Rhodes Streets there are three really great houses with ornaments and amazing lights that light up this street.

 

MATRAVILLE

The large houses of Matraville provide some great Christmas nights and it’s a suburb that has become known for them!

The main streets to check out are:

  • Franklin  Street
  • Barwon Crescent
  • Cunningham Street
  • Blaxland Street
  • Knowles Ave
  • Flanders Ave
