Now personally I don’t have an SUV, I am still stuck in “sedan land” so we set out to do an everyday local weekend in the east in the CX-5 and see how it worked for our family.
Our first weekend journey was off to Saturday sport at Heffron Park, it was cold morning so the leather seat warmers were a bonus along with the great stereo system including Bluetooth and digital radio, you can also hook up your Spotify and debate with your pre-teen on music taste!!. For an SUV it’s not bulky or heavy and I found it really easy to park in a congested car park.
Post Saturday sport we headed off to Westfield Eastgardens to do some grocery and general shopping, the great boot space and electronic tailgate was easy to use and spacious enough for a family shop, then the sun came out so the kids loved the sun roof.
I can see why the Mazda CX-5 has been the best-selling SUV in Australia for the past number of years, I’ve driven larger European SUV models and found them heavier to drive whilst the Mazda still has all the comforts of a modern car but the accessibility and ease needed to drive in congested Sydney traffic and at times the parking nightmare that often exists in the eastern suburbs.
