Sydney’s much-loved Bastille Festival is back from Thursday 16 July to Sunday 19 July 2026, bringing four unforgettable days of French food, wine, art, music and celebration to Circular Quay and The Rocks.
Best of all, entry is completely free.
For more than 13 years, Bastille Festival has brought a little slice of France to Sydney each winter, attracting Francophiles, food lovers, wine enthusiasts, music fans and anyone looking for a lively day or night out in the city.

This year, the festival returns bigger than ever, transforming the harbour foreshore into a celebration of French culture, flavour and joie de vivre. Think gooey raclette, buttery crêpes, escargots, macarons, chilled rosé, mulled wine, open-air cinema, cabaret, roaming performers and more.
“Every year, our aim is to share a slice of France right in the heart of Sydney,” says Vincent Hernandez, Founder and Festival Director. “This edition promises to be our most ambitious so far — larger, more daring and more immersive — inviting visitors on a true ‘Tour de France’ of flavours, culture and experiences.”
A Taste of France in the Heart of Sydney

Bastille Festival has become one of Sydney’s favourite winter food escapes, and the 2026 edition is shaping up to be its most delicious yet.
Visitors can explore more than 130 exhibitors and over 80 dishes, with a handpicked mix of French classics, regional specialties, indulgent sweets and creative modern takes on French cuisine.
Expect much-loved favourites including raclette, escargots, crêpes and macarons, alongside exclusive chef collaborations and globally inspired dishes reimagined with a French twist.
“Food is such a defining part of French culture, and it’s equally central to Bastille Festival,” says Hernandez. “Our goal is to make every dish feel like a journey, whether it’s a traditional specialty or something completely new inspired by French cuisine.”
French Wine, Winter Drinks & Harbour Nights

For 2026, Taste France x Vin de France will come to life as a bold and modern wine experience, inviting festivalgoers to discover approachable French wines through tastings, immersive masterclasses and playful sensory moments.
The festival will also feature a premium winter drinks program, including mulled wine, spiced cider, craft beer bars and French-inspired cocktails crafted with seasonal ingredients.
With more than 18 bars across Circular Quay and The Rocks, there will be plenty of opportunities to sip, wander and enjoy the atmosphere.
“Wine at Bastille Festival is never just about tasting, it’s about storytelling,” explains Hernandez. “Every glass reflects a place, its heritage, and its people.”
Art, Music, Markets & French Culture

This year, Bastille Festival will expand beyond its traditional footprint for the first time through a collaboration with the City’s busking program. Music and performance will flow through the quays and surrounding precincts, turning the city into a connected stage of sound, culture and discovery.
Festivalgoers can also look forward to more than 110 free performances, including cabaret, roaming mimes and unmistakably Parisian entertainment.
A new French-inspired flea market at Gateway Plaza will bring together vintage finds, artisanal goods and curated stalls, with a strong focus on community and charity involvement.
“At its core, Bastille Festival is about connection — to food, to culture, and to each other,” says Hernandez. “It’s about creating joyful, unexpected moments that bring people together.”
