It’s time for your kids’ imaginations to run wild! Fitzpatrick Park Playground in Kensington is now complete! After three months of construction the new play space, which caters to the interests and abilities of both older and younger children is ready for play time, announced Randwick Mayor Dylan Parker.
“This exciting new play space allows children to explore their imaginations and enjoy the outdoors. It’s a real adventure space, with equipment especially designed to invite kids to explore, create, and interact with each other,” said Mayor Parker
Designed with community in mind, the placement of seating and picnic tables in and around the playground encourages parents and carers to spend more time at the play area, giving them the opportunity to form friendships, build connections and feel a sense of belonging.
In addition to new paving, fencing and plants, the playground features brand new slides and swings, rubber soft-fall, bike hoops, a drinking fountain and picnic tables, both inside and outside the fenced area.
The community is invited mark their calendars for the official opening on Saturday 29 July from 10am-11.30am. There will be live music, kids entertainment and free coffee and ice cream! Keep an eye on Council’s website and social channels for all the exciting details.
