Connecting Bondi Junction to Sydney’s CBD Waverley Council is delighted to announce the completion of the final section of the Bondi Junction Cycleway which links Oxford Street, Syd Enfield Drive and Bondi Road to Centennial Park. The Bondi Junction Cycleway and Streetscape Upgrade is a priority project from Complete Streets, where we green and beautify public areas and footpaths, make meeting places more appealing and improve connections for cycling, walking and access to public transport. Now open! Meeks Street Plaza creates new civic heart for Kingsford

After eight months of construction, a new community plaza in the heart of Kingsford is opening to the public today Wednesday 8 March 2023, Randwick Mayor Dylan Parker announced. Located at the intersection of Meeks Street and Anzac Parade, the plaza includes new paving, a timber performance stage, large grass lawn area and new trees and shrubs. Installation of new BBQs at Bronte Beach

New barbecues will be installed in Bronte Park from Monday 20 February 2023 and work is expected to take three weeks to complete (weather permitting). During this time, power to existing barbecues will be cut to facilitate works. Council has engaged DA Christie to complete these works and work hours will be from 7am-5pm Monday to Friday and 8am-1pm Saturdays (if required). New female changerooms at Trumper Oval to encourage more local girls to play sport

Mayor Susan Wynne was overjoyed to join NSW Sports Minister Alister Henskens, local members Alex Greenwich and Gabrielle Upton, and representatives of the AFL to announce the new female changeroom facilities at Trumper Oval last week. Easts Bulldogs Junior AFL Club has received a $310,000 grant from NSW Office of Sport for the changeroom upgrade. Council has contributed an additional $40,000 and AFL NSW another $37,000. 90-year-old Hyde Park fountain’s new lease of life

The grand Archibald Memorial Fountain in Sydney’s Hyde Park is back in action, following extensive remediation and conservation works. The state heritage-listed fountain is a war memorial that commemorates the alliance forged by Australia and France during World War One. Created by French sculptor Francois Sicard, the fountain draws on ancient Greek themes and is an important example of Art Deco sculpture in Sydney.
