Construction begins to make McKeon Street Plaza permanent

Construction is underway at Maroubra Beach to transform a temporary public space into a new plaza providing a permanent space for people to gather and meet, Randwick Mayor Dylan Parker announced today. Kids start on balance bikes and once confident, can move onto pedal bikes. This is an interactive class designed to get parents involved in their children’s learning. Suitable for children aged 3 to 8 years. Bikes and helmets are provided, or you can bring your own. No need to book, just turn up and register with the instructors at the Sydney Park Cycling Centre. Step on up! Construction on Little Bay beach stairs now complete

Works to widen the timber staircase leading down to Little Bay Beach are now complete, finishing well ahead of schedule. Previously, Little Bay Beach could only be formally accessed via a single set of steep, narrow timber stairs. which made access difficult, particularly in summer when thousands of beach goers visit the beach daily carrying beach gear, eskies, fishing rods and scuba gear. The staircase has been widened using the existing footings with new Blackbutt timber treads and non-slip nosings in accordance with building regulations.
