Once upon a time, departmental stores employed professional bra fitters and provided fitting services for their lingerie products. 40 years ago, many women wore well-fitted bras. Times have changed a lot with most stores, if not nearly all, removing these services.
Now, it is estimated up to 80% of women are wearing wrong fitting bras.
Karen Edbrooke, founder of Big Girls Don’t Cry Anymore, Australia’s largest lingerie store for large and curvy women, realised the need to provide fitting services for women who couldn’t get into her store and launched a virtual fitting service in 2017.
The service has grown significantly with hundreds of women across the country being provided with ‘free’ virtual fittings every week.
The service enables women to undertake a personal one on one bra fitting in the comfort of their own home with a Big Girls consultant via Facetime or Skype.
The service is ideal for women who can’t travel, are busy, have young children or live in regional and remote areas.
“Women love our virtual bra fitting service,” Karen said.
“It is done in complete privacy. Our bra fitting consultants explain what type of bra would work best for their figure and show them why.”
The service is so popular, women are queuing up to book in.
Karen wants to help every woman in Australia to wear the right fitting bra – and she is determined to help as many women as possible!
