It’s here! The DRLC Splash Park officially opened on Sunday, October 8th. The event was graced by the presence of the newly elected Randwick Council Mayor, Philipa Veitch, along with Councillors and esteemed guests. The opening ceremony commenced with a speech from the Mayor, followed by the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
The day was filled with an array of family-friendly activities, including kids’ entertainment, roving performers, face painting, and more. It’s safe to say that the Splash Park was bustling with excitement on its inaugural day of operation.
The Splash Park is thoughtfully designed to cater to children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years, offering an assortment of in-ground and above-ground structures, such as slides, water sprays, surf cannons, a dump bucket, and more. The design also includes new landscaping and additional seating areas for parents and caregivers to comfortably oversee their children.
With sustainability at the forefront, the new Splash Park employs a water circulation system that prioritizes water conservation. This innovative system recycles and reuses water, allowing for the recovery of up to 95% of used water.
Undoubtedly, it stands as the perfect destination for cooling off during the summer season!”
