New weekly street festival announces fresh lineup to keep The Spot buzzing

Randwick’s newest family-friendly street dining festival, Spot On, returns every till  Thursday 28 October 2024, sporting a fresh lineup of entertainers to keep The Spot buzzing. After last week’s successful launch, Randwick City Council will again close St Pauls Street in front of the Ritz Cinema, making it pedestrian-friendly and allowing local restaurants to take over the street for another evening of alfresco dining and live entertainment. The Saturday Circle at Randwick Sustainability Hub

The Saturday Circle is a monthly get-together at Randwick Sustainability Hub where you can learn new skills to fix and reuse everyday items, and regenerate and support our natural environment. Every second Saturday of the month from 10:00am to 12:00pm (most activities). Good news for Electric car owners in Randwick

The Randwick City Council is amping up electric vehicle use with 100 new public charging spaces. Randwick City Council residents will have access to 100 new electric vehicle (EV) charging spaces by the end of 2025 as part of a joint council effort to support residents to make the switch to EVs. The ‘Charging the East’ initiative, an electric vehicle project coordinated through Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra councils, will increase the number of EV charging spots in the Randwick City Council area alone from 40 to 140 in less than 18 months. New staircase for South Coogee rockpool

Plans for a new staircase to the Ivo Rowe Rockpool, nestled along the Coastal, at 1R Bunya Parade at South Coogee, are now under way to improve safety and accessibility to the pool. The new staircase will replace the current concrete, rocky stairs and will be constructed of fibre reinforced polymer minimesh and stainless steel to protect it from the harsh coastal elements. The project will consist of three main stages: Design: Expected to be completed by July 2024. Procurement and fabrication: Up to two months. Swim safely at favourite Sydney spot this winter

As winter sun shines in Sydney’s skies after weeks of rainfall, beach-lovers can swim safely at one more beach in the Randwick area, with the local Council announcing new off-season patrols at Clovelly Beach. Randwick City Council professional Lifeguards will now patrol Clovelly Beach as well as Coogee and Maroubra beaches seven days a week, between sunrise and sunset.
