Mini Makers Club

Mini Makers Club is a fun filled program for school-aged children held once a month at each Woollahra Libraries service point. Each session is designed to provide a fun way to learn about science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, and runs for just under an hour. Bookings are required. Free venue hire trial in Randwick for community groups

From 1 July 2023 Randwick City Council will undertake a trial to waive fees for the use of nominated community centres and halls for eligible local community groups. The trial period will conclude at the end of the 2023-24 financial year, or when the total fees waived reaches $25,000 (whichever occurs first). This trial is to assist community groups to hire Council’s community spaces for events, meetings and community gatherings. Balance bike clinics

Kids start on balance bikes and once confident, can move onto pedal bikes. This is an interactive class designed to get parents involved in their children’s learning. Suitable for children aged 3 to 8 years. Bikes and helmets are provided, or you can bring your own. No need to book, just turn up and register with the instructors at the Sydney Park Cycling Centre. Clinics run every Saturday 9am to 11am except public holidays and during our Christmas break. Community planting for National Tree Day

Get hands-on planting native grasses, groundcovers and flowering herbs in Surry Hills. Come along and help enhance the meadow habitat being established along Cleveland Street. We’ll set out 5000 plants including kangaroo grass, barbwire grass and native flowering violets. This will support the local biodiversity including small birds, insect pollinators, lizards and frogs. Prince Alfred Park was originally a grassy Eucalypt woodland, which was developed as government pasture in the 1900s for livestock grazing. LOCAL COMPANY LAUNCHES BUGTACULAR SCHOOL ROADSHOW IN SYDNEY’S EASTERN SUBURBS

A Sydney pest control company, Pest2Kill has launched a unique Bug Show, touring local schools to introduce the kids to the fascinating world of entomology.
