Join marine biologist and educator Will Jones, to learn how to safely explore the rock pools and discover amazing creatures the tide leaves behind.
This practical session will include:
- What is an intertidal zone and who lives there?
- Identifying common animals and plants you will find on the rock platforms of Sydney such as, sea snails and sea urchins
- The changing habitat of the rockpools and food webs
- What is an intertidal protection zone and where are they in our area
- How to plan a safe rockpool tour or how to book one
Suitable for educators of all age students to gain a deeper understanding of this environment.
We will be walking on the rocks at North Bondi – please wear enclosed shoes (e.g. old runners that can get wet – NO thongs), rain jacket and / or, sunscreen and hat.
Meeting place – Picnic shelter at Biddigal Reserve.
We have various wet weather contingencies depending on the severity of the weather. More information will be provided near the time.
