Morning Jazz Tales Concert 9 May

Mini Musica is so excited to be swinging back to Paddington Uniting Church this May. Get ready to tap, twirl, click or clap along to a morning filled with upbeat swing jazz and blue grass tunes.

When you think of jazz, violin is not the first instrument that comes to mind. Join Phoebe Haselden and Andrew Scott for a swinging and bubbly time as they share the infectious toe tapping sounds of jazz violin with accordion and piano.

Andrew Scott is an exhilarating performer, talented arranger and formidable composer. Having graduated from the preeminent Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor in Music Performance, he went on to pursue his passion for Film Scoring. Andrew is as comfortable on the stage of a Jazz club as he is producing scores in the studio and balances his easy-going attitude with an industrious work ethic.

Violinist Phoebe Haselden is a founding member of the Mimosa Duo. Phoebe studied with scholarship at the Sydney Conservatorium in classical music. Since graduating in 2009 Phoebe has performed at the Opera House and toured both locally and internationally including France and New Zealand.

What to expect: Enjoy high calibre music in a relaxed environment in beautiful intimate spaces. Children can actively listen, respond, and move to live, acoustic music and explore instruments up close. Seating is theatre style. If your little ones prefer tummy time or want to be on the move, you are welcome to bring a throw rug and camp upfront. As a guide, you can expect a 30 minute themed concert followed by a 10 minute interactive, especially for our younger audience members. You’re always welcome to sit back and enjoy or get up and participate in a singalong of childhood favourites, dance a jig or flamenco – whatever the flavour of the day!

Price: Tickets from $25. A Standard ticket admits 1 adult and two children up to the age of six years. Family & Friends tickets available
