The Waverly City Council  is holding an re-opening event.

Join us on Saturday 20 August from 9am to celebrate the re-opening of Onslow Street Reserve! The event will include a ceremonial ribbon cutting with Mayor Paula Masselos followed by free coffee and face painting. See you there!

As identified in our Play Space Strategy, we’re improving Onslow Street Reserve to ensure it is fit for purpose and up to the latest Australian Standards.

The upgrade includes:

  • A new play space with a multi-play unit, swings, rubber soft fall, custom tunnel and nature play elements;
  • A new steel garden fence along the park frontage;
  • Additional park bench and bin enclosure
  • New park signage
  • New tree planting and garden beds
  • New connecting path to the playground

Construction started in late February 2022 and was finished in July 2022, despite the weather.

Fencing has now been removed around Onslow St Reserve and the upgraded park and play area is now open for the community to enjoy. Para-webbing will remain around the grass for another 4 to 6 weeks to allow the turf to establish and avoid any potential trip hazards.

Our contractor, GJs Landscapes, will complete furniture and fixture works over the coming weeks. This can be managed with the park open.

Thank you for your patience as final works are completed.
