Great news for dog lovers and families with dogs in Woollahra: eight new areas across the Woollahra Local Government Area are now available for off-leash dog walking, with five more locations to come.
The newly approved off-leash areas include:
Camp Cove Reserve, Watsons Bay
Cooper Park upper amphitheatre
Percival Park, Rose Bay
Signal Hill Reserve, Vaucluse
Woollahra Ovals 2 & 3, Rose Bay, 3.30pm–10.30am
Robertson Park and Beach, between the Yacht Club and Ferry Wharf, 3.30pm–10.30am
Steyne Park Sportsfield, Double Bay, 5pm–8.30am
Moncur Reserve, Woollahra, 3.30pm–10.30am
Council has also extended off-leash hours at Lower Cooper Park, Lough Playing Fields and Dumaresq Reserve.
Families can now also walk dogs on-leash at Tingira Memorial Park and the adjacent beach in Rose Bay, Derby Street Reserve in Vaucluse, and Murray Rose Pool in Double Bay up to the café level.
These changes follow community consultation and give local dog owners more flexible options for fresh air, exercise and social time with their pets.
Five additional off-leash areas have also been approved, but will need playground fencing upgrades before opening to make sure they are safe for local children.
