Each week we meet a local eastern suburbs mum to hear about her life and tips for living in Sydney’s east. This week meet Rose Bay local, Tammy Joseph.
Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east?
We currently are living in the gorgeous Rose Bay. I have actually lived in Rose Bay for my entire life!
How many children?
I have one gorgeous son, Noah who is 16 months. I have two fur babies, Louie my 6 month old Samoyed and Monty my 8 year old Ragdoll. Surrounded my boys!
Favourite Park:
I adore Lyne Park in Rose Bay. It really is so beautiful and to have the harbour at my doorstep and have access to a wonderful playground, great cafes and a dog park all in one is just heaven!
Favourite Beach:
All three of us (my husband, son and I) are all ultra pale and not so great in the son so we don’t really go to the beach! However, I have been known to have a few evening picnics at Camp Cove. It’s a beautiful spot!
Favourite Coffee Spot:
I practically live at Espresso on Dover, it’s my home away from home. I have been going there for about 16 years and love everything about it. The team all know Noah and he happily plays with them whilst I sit down for a coffee.
Favourite Local Date Night Location:
It’s a tie between Niji and Little Jean, both in Double Bay. We love Japanese food and Niji is totally delicious. I can’t go past Little Jean’s fillet steak though!
Favourite wet weather location:
Home… we are homebodies and wet weather is just an excuse to stay home and enjoy each others company made even better with bagels and friends!
Work or SAHM:
Both… I started my business Property Preppers last June after realizing there was a gap in the market for specialist property cleaning and sale preparation.
We get to work closely with lots of local mums and help reduce their stress a little by looking after the cleaning and preparation of their homes during their sale campaign. Additionally, we offer end of lease and spring cleaning!
Motherly Advice:
Do what works for you, it doesn’t matter if it does or doesn’t work for someone else. Being in tune with your children’s needs as well as your own is vital. Also remember that tomorrow is another day, another opportunity to learn, experiment with ideas and do something differently. Take care of yourself too, not only will it give you energy to look after your family but it will teach your children that loving yourself is absolutely necessary.
