This week we are interviewing local mum Adelie Hanly from Rosebery.

Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east?

I live in Rosebery, and I’ve lived in the east since 2010. In the past I;ve lived in Chippindale, and The Sutherland Shire.

Three words that describe what it’s like to live in the eastern suburbs?

Diverse, fast paced and charming.

How many children?

1 daughter, 8 years.

Favourite Park:

Sir Joseph Banks Park in Botany.

Favourite Beach:

Was Coogee but now prefer Clovelly. It’s nicely sheltered and small with a beautiful swimming area and a resident Blue Groper fish called Bluey who is super friendly.

Favourite kid friendly cafe:

The Pool Cafe, Maroubra. Stunning views over Maroubra Beach.

Favourite Coffee Spot:

Black Star Pastry, Rosebery.

Favourite date night place:

Three Blue Ducks, The Cannery in Rosebery.

Where in the east have you yet to explore and would like to?

I’ve explored a lot of it.

What would you like to see improve in the eastern suburbs?

We are always short on parking by the beach and other popular destinations. We could use more. Also don’t love that we must pay for parking. Love the trees, and greenery. We got that right!

Favourite Local Shop:

Aldi, Rosebery. It’s so much cheaper than Woollies’ and Coles. Weekly grocery shop has been cut down from $300 per week to $160.

Favourite wet weather location:

East Gardens, Westfield in Pagewood.

Favourite Local family Weekend Activity?

We love to go to Sydney Park or Sir Joseph Banks Park and catch up with friends while the kids have a play.

Work or SAHM? Work!

Career is important. I work as a HR professional in the Technology industry and love helping people every day. Creating a world that is inclusive and empathetic is so important.

Motherly advice?

Trust yourself and do what is right for you and your family. Taking there viewpoints into consideration are important however at the end of the day it’s your decision where you chose to live, play and enjoy life.
