Celebrating how the best things come in little packages, Little Moons will be giving Sydneysiders free samples of the new flavour at their ‘Little Shop’ this week.

Little Moons – the viral UK mochi ice cream brand that flew off Australian shelves and amassed a cult following in 2022, has officially brought a new flavour to Aussie shores, Golden Blond Chocolate.

To celebrate the launch, Little Moons is opening the world’s littlest ice cream parlour in Sydney’s Kensington Street, serving up bite sized ice cream from another world from a shop no bigger than a suitcase.

On May 19-21 2023 between 11.30am and 9pm, ice cream lovers and Little Moons fans can head to 32 Kensington Street, Chippendale, to sample the delicious Golden Blond Chocolate mochi ice cream for free and witness the Little Moons Little Shop in action.

Crafted by miniature sculptor Joshua Smith, the Little Shop is a fully functioning ice cream parlour that brings to life Little Moons’ bite-sized, snackable moments.

Available to buy now exclusively from Woolworths from today (15 May), Golden Blond Chocolate is the perfect little lift, combining delicate white chocolate and caramelised sugar, blended with Little Moons’ signature silky smooth golden gelato, studded with milk and white chocolate pieces and all perfectly wrapped in a sweet rice dough. In line with the rest of the range, it is gluten-free and free from artificial flavourings, colourings and preservatives.Golden Blond Chocolate will sit alongside three of Little Moons’ most popular flavours, Vegan Belgian Chocolate & Hazelnut, Vegan Tropical Passionfruit and Mango and Honey Roasted Pistachio, which will also be available to sample at the Little Shop.

Vivien Wong, co-founder, Little Moons comments: “Following the overwhelmingly successful introduction of Little Moons down under in 2022, Australia is now a key market for us, so we’re thrilled to now introduce one of our best sellers, Golden Blond Chocolate, here too. We’ve loved seeing Aussies getting a perfect little lift from our mochi bites and can’t wait to expand our flavour offering even more later this year – stay tuned!”

Miniature Sculpture, Joshua Smith comments: “It’s been fantastic working with the Little Moons team to bring their vision of the  Little Shop ice cream parlour to life. It’s the perfect way to serve up the perfect bite-sized snack! Syndeysiders should head down to Kensington Street to check it all out, grab a snap and snack on the new Golden Blond Chocolate flavour.”

Brother and sister, Howard and Vivien, co-founded Little Moons in 2010 after being  inspired by a treat they sampled in Japan. They then took to the kitchen with an ice cream machine and the craft they learned from their parents bakery, and began to experiment with what would later become Little Moons. Today, the company produces 180 million mochi (and counting) a year and is sold in over 20 countries, with plans to further expand the flavour offering in Australia.

Golden Blond Chocolate is now available to purchase from Woolworths, with an RRP of $10.00 per pack of six mochi.
