Sydney’s iconic Westpac OpenAir is ready to bring some sunshine to Sydney Harbour this summer, with an extended season, a stellar line up of films and delicious harbourside dining. The event will run for 48 nights from January 6 to 22 February 2022, on Mrs Macquaries Point in the Royal Botanic Garden.

The 2022 film program will be filled with highly anticipated premiere and preview screenings, as well as the very best current releases. Audiences can look forward to catching blockbusters including No Time To Die, House of Gucci and The Matrix Resurrections, as well as a fabulous selection of high-quality arthouse films including Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch. The full film program will be launched on Monday 22 November.

From early evening, audiences can make the most of this extraordinary location, as the event’s harbourside bar and restaurant come to life. Acclaimed local chef Mike McEnearney adds a Mexican BBQ twist to his classic Kitchen by Mike menu, while some of Sydney’s leading DJs help create the perfect sunset vibe. Then at night fall, OpenAir’s massive 350 square metre cinema screen will rise from the harbour, delivering an unrivalled cinema experience, complete with surround sound, comfortable seating and the magical backdrop of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and city skyline.

With new freedoms for Sydneysiders this summer, tickets are expected to be a hot commodity.

The full film program for the 2022 season will be available later this month. Tickets for the 2022 season will go on sale at 9am AEDT, 8 December via Ticketmaster, with an exclusive pre-sale for Westpac customers running from 9AM Monday, 6 December – 5PM Tuesday, 7 December.
