Census Information Pop-Ups Coming to Waverley Ahead of the 2026 Census

If you have questions about the upcoming 2026 Australian Census, help is on hand. Waverley Council will be hosting a series of free Census Information Pop-Ups across Bondi and Bondi Junction, giving local residents the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the Census process and find out how to complete their Census form.

Whether you’re completing the Census for the first time, need assistance understanding the questions or simply want more information about why the Census matters, these pop-up sessions are a great opportunity to speak with knowledgeable staff in person.

Why the Census Matters

Held every five years, the Australian Census provides a snapshot of the country’s population and helps governments, councils and community organisations plan for the future.

Information collected through the Census helps determine where funding and services are needed most, including:

  • Schools and childcare services
  • Hospitals and healthcare
  • Public transport
  • Roads and infrastructure
  • Parks and recreational facilities
  • Community programs and services

By participating in the Census, local families help ensure that the Eastern Suburbs continues to receive the services and infrastructure needed for a growing community.
