Whale Watching Picnic with Dr Vanessa Pirotta

Whale watching season in Sydney has begun, and thousands of humpback whales are already travelling north on the East Australian Current ‘highway’  straight past Waverley. They are migrating to warmer waters to breed and feed so that they can build up fat and survive their return to the colder Southern Ocean. Wills Reserve Kingsford playground upgrade

Randwick Council is planning to upgrade the playground at Wills Reserve on Duke Street, Kensington. The reserve provides a quiet, leafy escape for local families who enjoy the park’s grassy area for ball sports, walking the dog, and playing in the playground. We’ve received feedback about the playground’s aging equipment and worn-out rubber surface. In response, we’ve developed a concept design that will give the playground a fresh, new look. Maintenance works start for Coogee beachside parkland

Goldstein Reserve, adjacent to Coogee Beach, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is set for an upgrade, with a range of works to improve pedestrian access, facilities for beach users, and drainage, starting this week. Works will include the installation of new showers at the northern end of the parkland, a new stormwater grate and paving, as well as 800 square metres of new turf to cover bare areas near the kiosk. New pocket park at busy Randwick intersection opens to public

A new park at the intersection of Clovelly and Carrington roads is now open, providing the community in Randwick with a unique outdoor space to rest and gather. The pocket park features timber seats with sculptural structures on which vines will grow and cover to provide shade, new plants, and a multi-purpose deck. Four timed parking spaces on Clovelly Road, adjacent to the park, have also been added to ensure easy access to local businesses. The pocket park replaces a median island and slip lane. Your group, club or organisation can play on the new sports field. The City of Sydney Council is building a new multipurpose sports field next to Perry Park Recreation Centre in Alexandria. It’s expected to open in mid-2024. The field is a long-pile multipurpose, synthetic pitch that is suitable for rugby, Australian football, soccer and field hockey games and training.
