An annual crowd favourite, Ferrython is one of Australia Day’s most popular and iconic events. Head down to the harbour to watch Sydney’s beloved Emerald Class ferries race through the waves in this hugely popular Australia Day tradition. The Ferrython, which has been staged on Australia Day every year since 1977, sees Sydney’s iconic green and yellow ferries colourfully dressed in honour of their namesakes as they line up for a race from Fort Denison, around Shark Island and back to the finish line under the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
