A safer walk to school means less traffic and healthier kids

Heavy traffic congestion around schools at drop off and pick up times is a frustrating reality for many families but a new plan by Waverley Council aims to address that headache – and improve health for children. The Safer Walking Routes to School program will make getting to school without the car safer and easier, and encourage parents and children to choose walking, scootering or riding to school. Mini Makers Club is a fun filled program for school-aged children held once a month at each Woollahra Libraries service point. Each session is designed to provide a fun way to learn about science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, and runs for just under an hour. Bookings are required. Balance bike clinics

Kids start on balance bikes and once confident, can move onto pedal bikes. This is an interactive class designed to get parents involved in their children’s learning. Suitable for children aged 3 to 8 years. Bikes and helmets are provided, or you can bring your own. No need to book, just turn up and register with the instructors at the Sydney Park Cycling Centre.
