Bliss Balls are a great addition to any lunchbox or snack for all kids, a much better alternative to biscuits which are often high in sugar.

Most of all they are great to make with the kids!

Local mum and nutritionist Kim Holmes from The Healthy Little B shares her super healthy recipe.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup sunflower seeds

1/3 cup peptias

2 tablespoons cacao + / or 1-2 tablespoons carob powder

2 tablespoons tahini

1 cup medjool dates (soaked for 10 mins to soften)

1 teaspoon of coconut oil

Desiccated coconut and or chia seeds to roll in

 

Method:

 1.Place sunflower seeds & pepitas in a food processor and blitz till they resemble a chunky (or finer) crumb – this will depend how much crunch you likeJ

2.Add dates (remember to remove seeds!), cacao (and or carob), tahini & blitz

3.If mixture seems dry, add the coconut oil

4.Blitz until the mixture sticks together

5.Roll with wet hands into desired ball size in coconut, chia or both or one!

6.Place in sealed container in fridge and allow an hour or so till eating

7.They should last at least a week in the fridge

8.ENJOY!
