Hi Mummas, I’m Sarah, Mum of 3 living in Rosebery. I love spending time with family and friends, checking out new cafes and restaurants, and squeezing in the occasional sneaky late night mummy date at Archie Rose.
As a family, we spend most weekends looking for fun things to do with our trio of minis – whether that’s a trip to a bike park, play centre, or a Bunnings kids crafter-noon session, it’s always an adventure!
Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east?
We’ve lived in Rosebery for 11 years and have loved watching it evolve from warehouse central into such a vibrant family friendly community filled with amazing cafes, restaurants and shopping spots.
Three words that describe what it’s like to live in the eastern suburbs?
Family-friendly, social, relaxed

How many children?
We have 3 children, Ethan who is 7, Connor who is 5 and April who is 2.
Favourite Park?
Our favourite park is the Heffron Pedal Park. The kids have so much fun riding their bikes and scooters around the mini streets while “following” the road rules. It’s such a great spot for them to build confidence, burn energy and enjoy some outdoor fun.
It’s also fully enclosed, which makes it so easy to relax while the kids play, and there’s plenty of grassy areas to put down a picnic rug, have some lunch and snacks, and watch them enjoy themselves.

Favourite Beach?
We love Camp Cove during the week when it’s a little quieter. It’s such a beautiful spot, and the calm water makes it perfect for the kids to enjoy and swim safely.
Favourite kids friendly cafe?
The Grounds of Alexandria is always a favourite, great for brunch and always so much to see and enjoy!
Favourite Coffee Spot?
Fifth Earl Rosebery is our go-to coffee spot – the coffee is always amazing, the service is excellent and it’s great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Such a great local place with a relaxed vibe and consistently good food.
Favourite date night place?
We love a city date night at The Malaya. It’s been our go to for years, from the days on King Street Wharf to its new location on George Street, it always delivers a lovely atmosphere and delicious food.
What would you like to see improve in the eastern suburbs?
Would love to see more transport options.
Favourite Community Provider?
Hands down, GeckoSports Randwick has been an absolute winner in our books! Both of my boys, Ethan and Connor, have gone through their sports program and absolutely loved it from the very beginning.
The variety of activities offered each week kept them constantly engaged, excited and wanting to come back for more. It’s been amazing watching their confidence, coordination, teamwork and willingness to try new things grow throughout the program.
Natascha and the team create such a fun, supportive and inclusive environment, and the positive impact it’s had on both boys has been so noticeable – not just physically, but socially and emotionally too. We’re so grateful to have such a fantastic community program available locally and couldn’t recommend GeckoSports more highly!

Favourite wet weather location?
Our go to wet weather locations are Miniversal Kids cafe in Marrickville or Holey Moley, Hijinx Hotel & Archie Brothers in Alexandria.
Favourite Local family Weekend Activity?
We love checking out what’s on at the local Bunnings Warehouse for fun kids activities. There’s always face painting, a play area and some arts & crafts on offer for the kids. And of course, the sausage sizzle is a must!
Motherly advice?
Trust your instincts — you know your children better than anyone else. The days can feel long, but the years fly by, so give yourself grace, allow yourself to slow down and enjoy the little moments along the way. If it’s not done today, there’s always tomorrow.
And remember, it’s okay to take time for yourself too. Whether it’s a massage, dinner with friends or simply having a moment to yourself to reset, filling your own cup will make you a happier, more present mum.
