Plus, enjoy free movie screenings featuring ‘Secret Life of Pets’ and ‘The Amazing Maurice’. Explore the world of coding with our silly-eyed pet character activity, and don’t forget to visit our Petting Zoo!

We haven’t forgotten about our teens. We also have some fantastic events for high school students these school holidays. These include zine making, learn to cook in VR and friendship bracelet workshops.

School Holiday Fun: Scratch Code – Silly Eyes Pets (ages 8 – 12)

Next date: Tuesday, 16 &  22 April 2024 | 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Join our introductory Scratch Code Club experience creating your own digital Silly Eyes pets.

Learn how to code using Scratch, and design and create a silly eyes pet. The pet’s large, silly eyes will follow the mouse pointer to bring your character to life.

You will:

  • Make a project that is fun to play with
  • Create your own pet
  • Code your project using sprites, scripts and loops

All devices and logins supplied. Session is open to students new to Scratch programming.

Parents and carers are required to remain onsite for the duration of the session for children under 10 years old.

School Holiday Fun: Pets Rock! Craft (ages 5 – 12)

Join us in celebrating some of the cutest animals – real or imagined.

Pets come in all shapes and sizes. Paint, create and make your own Pet Rock as well as a colourful pet fish wind catcher. All materials provided.
