A festival jam packed with free activities the whole family can enjoy while making waves for the ocean.

The annual Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival is returning to Bondi for the weekend of 18 & 19 March with a jam-packed program of free activities and events for the whole family to celebrate and inspire action for the ocean.

Music, art, films, food, talks and market stalls will fill the newly restored Bondi Pavilion with vibrant entertainment for all ages over the weekend.

Make an impact by helping clean the beach at the popular Big Bondi Beach Clean, vibe with some of Australia’s hottest musicians, or take part in a free sunrise yoga and meditation session on the beach, and so much more at this awesome weekend festival.

Kids and adults can join free and interactive Ocean Lab Workshops, which will include fun and fascinating activities from underwater drones to exploring plankton through microscopes. There will be painting and origami whale making and you can discover fun and practical ways to love our ocean – all you need to do is turn up at the Bondi Pavilion Courtyard.

Beachgoers can turn up in their swimmers to hear from world-leading scientists and see some of the latest innovations and technology saving our seas at the Sea Science Showcase. There will also be inspirational talks on sharks, sustainable seafood, surviving the beach and sustainable surfing among others.

The iconic Trashion parades will return to the festival – featuring marine pollution turned into wearable art, as well as the Ocean Lovers Lap swim hosted by Bondi Icebergs and presented by purpose driven social media platform, WeAre8.

Showcasing the impact of rubbish on the oceans, school kids were invited to repurpose rubbish into artworks.  See the young talent that turned trash to treasure with the winning works on display over both days in the Litterarty Exhibition.

On Sunday morning, families will be challenged to build their best ocean sculpture in the sand, entry is free and there will be prizes to be won.

On both days, Bondi will feel the beat with an incredible line-up of free live music, showcasing a diverse range of musical talent who share a passion for the ocean. The line-up includes legendary singer-songwriter Toni Childs and a collection of local Australian artists who will take to the Sunshine at the Bondi Pavilion.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic weekend of activities that champions hope and celebrates the ocean.
