Diamond Bay Clifftop Walkway now open to the public

Waverley Council is excited to announce upgrades along sections of the Clifftop Walkway in Dover Heights and Vaucluse, enhancing safety and enjoyment for all. Construction on the Diamond Bay boardwalk is now complete, and this section is once again open to the public. Work is ongoing along the Eastern Reserve boardwalk, with completion expected in late summer 2025. This timeline accounts for required stabilization, stormwater works at Oceanview Ave and George St, and potential weather delays. We appreciate the community’s patience throughout these improvements. Here’s what the Clifftop Walkway Upgrade includes: Enhanced Viewing Areas: New decks, stairs, balustrades, and handrails…

Monday’s Local Mum, Sophie Taylor

Hi Fellow Super Mums! I’m Sophie, a Vaucluse-based mama of three little ones who drive me crazy on a daily basis (crazy in love and just plain crazy, in equal measures!). Living in the Eastern Suburbs of this sparkling city is a dream come true; I love the beachy lifestyle, epic water views, strong sense of community and unrivalled coffee culture.    Life is busy juggling the demands of family life and running a business. My husband Phil and his business partner Julian co-own a multi-award-winning pest control company called Pest2Kill and I head up the marketing for them. We’ve just…

Monday’s Local Mum, Kellie Sloane

Hi, I’m Kellie. I’m an eastern suburbs mum, former National CEO of Life Education (Healthy Harold) and former TV journalist. Right now, I’m running for Parliament, as the Liberal Candidate for Vaucluse.  I’m here to ask for a chance to represent this amazing community. Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east? We have lived in the eastern suburbs for the past 9 years, so it’s where our boys have grown up and attend school and play sport – and where we’re creating memories as a family. We feel so fortunate to be in one of the most…

Top 4 places to swim with kids in Woollahra

With temperatures set to soar this week, beat the heat by taking the family to one of these stunning and kid friendly beaches. Camp Cove Arguably one of the best beaches in Sydney, Camp Cove Beach is a great place for kids to swim. Its harbour-side location means the water is generally calm and clean and there’s a great view of the harbour and city skyline. Go for a walk through the adjacent national park and visit the kiosk for post-swim snacks. The car park does tend to get full very quickly, so get down early if you’re driving. Murray…

Monday’s local mum, Karen Freyer

Hi my name is Karen Freyer. I’m running as the Independent candidate for the electorate of Vaucluse in the upcoming State election on March 25 but I’m not a politician. I’m running as I’m concerned my children might not have the same opportunities I’ve had, because our environment and economy risk being blighted by the effects of human-induced climate change.  I feel I can no longer look away from the incipient disaster of rising sea levels, warming of the land and species extinction. I am also concerned about the loss of integrity and transparency in our government, and about persisting…

Build Your Child’s Self Esteem, Confidence & Coordination!

Through dance, young boys and girls learn to coordinate and control their bodies through spacial awareness. Elise Kiely, the owner and director of Dance Mode Studios in Vaucluse mentions, “in addition, it gives children a chance to express emotions, such as joy and excitement and is a valuable release of their energy,” noting that it gives children a chance to shake off bad moods and enjoy being imaginative and creative.
