Spark in the Park | Ages 0–5
The Summer Storytime Trail is fluttering into Randwick this week, bringing three joyful, free Spark in the Park Library events to families across the eastern suburbs — and the final stop is a very special one.
On Thursday 22 January, little book lovers are invited to the Randwick Environment Park for a delightful Birds and Feathers themed storytime, featuring special guest Ronojoy Ghosh, the much-loved illustrator of the Bin Chicken book series.
Families are encouraged to bring a picnic rug, snacks and enjoy a relaxed outdoor morning filled with stories, songs and creativity. Ronojoy will read stories and sing along with children, making this a beautiful experience for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.
Ronojoy Ghosh is an acclaimed children’s author and illustrator whose work includes Mem Fox’s best-selling I’m Australian Too. His debut book Ollie and the Wind was shortlisted for the 2016 CBCA Book of the Year, and his playful storytelling style is always a hit with young audiences.
This event is part of the Summer Storytime Trail, a series of three back-to-back Spark in the Park sessions held across different parks this week:
-
Tuesday 20 January – Sway at Yarra Bay
-
Wednesday 21 January – Slip, Slop, Slap: Summer Safety at Broadarrow Reserve, Maroubra
-
Thursday 22 January – Birds and Feathers at Randwick Environment Park
Children who get their Summer Storytime Trail passport stamped at all three events will go into the draw to win a prize. Passports can be collected from any Randwick City Library branch or downloaded and printed at home.
All Spark in the Park programs are free, celebrate inclusiveness and diversity, and are designed especially for families with young children.
