During the spring holidays, Darling Harbour often hosts various family-friendly activities and events. You can expect outdoor entertainment, food festivals, live music, and special performances. Barangaroo Reserve offers a beautiful natural setting for picnics and leisurely walks during spring. The lush greenery and stunning waterfront views make it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the pleasant weather.

Below is a list of activities to enjoy for the whole family this spring holiday

  • Parkoursome (Sunday 1 October & Sunday 8 October) – From 9:30am to 11:30am, unleash your kid’s adventurous streak with FREE kids parkour classes at the Pier Street Underpass. Led by skilled instructors, kids aged 8-15 years can test out their inner daredevil in a safe and fun environment.

  • Kids Yoga (Wednesday 4 October) – From 10:30am to 11am, and 11:30am to 12pm, kids aged 2-12 years can join FREE spring yoga classes in the Monkey Baa Theatre. It’s the perfect opportunity for the kids to wind down and connect with their mind and bodies in a positive way.
  • Little Calligraphers (Monday 25 September to Friday 29 September; and Tuesday 3 October to Friday 6 October) – Running at 11am, 12pm, and 1pm each day, kids aged 5-12 years are invited to get hands-on and learn Chinese calligraphy at the Chinese Garden of Friendship. The unique and cultural experience is free with garden admission and bookings are essential.

  • Sydney Fringe Kids (Friday 15 September to Sunday 1 October) – Fringe Kids will be taking over Darling Quarter for two weeks with a lineup of shows with lots of whimsical fun! Be entertained by world-class illusions, tumbling acrobats, highly skilled jugglers, breath-taking aerialists, and more at Circus: The Show ($33pp), immerse the kids in a magical fairyland of sing, complete with real mini pony at Piccolo Ponies ($25pp), and take part in the biggest smallest show on earth A Pocket Sized Circus ($24pp).

  • Paw Patrol at SEA LIFE and WILD LIFE Sydney (Saturday 23 September to Sunday 8 October) – Join Adventure City’s Heroes on an interactive trail through the aquarium or zoo and learn about Aussie creatures and their amazing powers ($40.80pp). Kids will also have the chance to meet and greet, and grab a shot with a beloved PAW Patrol character!

  • Moon Festival (Friday 29 September to Sunday 1 October)

    • Darling Square: From 6pm to 9pm, round up your family and mates and make your way to Darling Square for its annual Moon Festival! Take a memorable photo under the lanterns, enjoy live music and lion dances, and taste delicious, limited-time dishes and drinks from venues such as Chinta Ria, XOPP, Hello Auntie, Dopa, IIKO Mazesoba, and Ume Burger. Don’t forget to grab its namesake Moon Cake to share with loved ones!

    • Chinese Garden of Friendship: For a truly immersive experience, guests are invited to explore the tranquil paths of the garden with lantern riddles (Monday 25 September to Sunday 8 October) offering messages of wisdom and good fortune. There’ll also be an Appreciating the Moon event (Saturday 30 September, from 6pm to 9pm) where you can experience the magic of moon-watching after dark with soothing music performances for one night only ($12pp)!

Barangaroo

  • Kids Caring for Country (Monday 25 September to Friday 29 September) – From 10:30am to 12pm each day, get the kids to interact with the beautiful surrounds of Barangaroo Reserve to learn about the amazing native plants, animals, and habitats. Led by Cultural educators, they’ll discover ways to care for country, the right way ($16.50pp).
