Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east:
We have lived in the eastern suburbs for 17 years now.
How many children:
I have 2 boys, 4 years and 9 months old.
Favourite Park:
It has always been Centennial Park, as we live so close. The new Ian Potter Children’s Wild Play Garden is a fantastic opportunity for my children to immerse themselves in nature-play.
Favourite Beach:
The world famous Bondi beach; we always meet familiar faces there.
Favourite kid friendly cafe:
I can’t choose one 🙂 – Bavarian Bier Cafe, Entertainment Quarter and Ikea food hall would be my top 3.
Favourite Coffee Spot:
Jamaican Blue at Eastgardens, the coffee is great and their food is made from the freshest ingredients.
Favourite date night place:
I would have to say a relaxing night at Hoyts cinema. There’s nothing better than popcorn and a good movie!
Favourite Local Day Out Activity:
My boys love Coogee Beach Playground. It’s a small, safe area but big enough to keep them busy. The fresh, sea air is an added bonus!
Favourite Local Shop:
Hobby Co. in QVB. The building is simply stunning and my eldest could keep himself entertained for hours with the craft materials and puzzles there.
Favourite wet weather location:
With 2 very active little boys, it would have to be Monkey Mania at Moore Park! The play equipment is amazing and suitable for both my toddler and preschooler.
Describe an ideal day in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for you?
Our perfect day would be a trip to the beach and playground (Bondi or Coogee), fish n chips for lunch and an afternoon nap. Then a walk/bike/scooter around our local area, followed by a family game/movie.
What area of the east have you yet to explore much but would like to?
Double Bay Library, my eldest just loves books and I’ve heard they have a wonderful selection!
Work or Stay at home parent?
I feel very fortunate to do both -I’m a full-time mummy and also work part-time from home. It’s definitely a juggle at times!
Why did you choose to send your child to a School Readiness Program?
As a busy mum of 2, I can’t dedicate the time I would like in preparing my older son for school. I didn’t want him to lack confidence or fall behind in school once he started. He loves to learn and I wanted to promote his eagerness for numbers and reading. We worked with Discover Learning Australia and found their school readiness program invaluable to helping him prepare.
FREE SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMS THIS SEPTEMBER
Discover Learning Australia are conducting FREE school readiness sessions this September 17-23rd 2018 at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Bondi Junction.
