Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east?
My husband and I moved to Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs on return to my home-city after living interstate and overseas.
We have been living here since 2004 and love it! There aren’t many places where you have national parks, beaches, the harbour, small hidden parks, cafes, shops all in close proximity to the city. We consider ourselves very fortunate to live here.
How many children?
3 children aged 3, 8 and 10.
Favourite Park?
I love the coastal walks around Dover Heights and Christison Park
Favourite Beach?
Depends on the weather and if I’m going to swim or just walk and have fun with the family. I have many favourites- such as North Bondi, Maroubra, Neilsen Park Harbour Beach.
Favourite kid friendly cafe:
I really enjoy the Gado Gado salad at “Dover Cafe” Rose Bay. The owners are very accommodating to children and make a lovely kids pancake with fresh fruit.
I have just discovered “The Good One” at Bondi which my kids also enjoyed with wholesome, delicious food. A recently revamped cafe which is kid friendly is “Dove on Dover” Dover Heights. Then there is Waverley Park Kiosk which is very welcoming to children. Sorry.., I know that’s 4, yet all worth a mention!!
Favourite Coffee Spot?
I’m a rare Sydneysider who doesn’t drink coffee!! Yet my husband loves a good piccolo latte and one of his favourites is Rocco’s at Vaucluse. I’m a Chai Tea/Chai Latte/Tumeric Latte girl!!
I also love an on the tap Kombucha such as at Orchard St Bondi.
Favourite date night place?
I can’t quite remember!! That’s what happens with 3 small children and no family supports…any quiet ambient restaurant would be great!!
Favourite Local Day Out Activity?
Anything involving nature, my family and delicious wholesome food! Lots of related options here in the East.
Favourite Local Shop?
Duo at Double Bay where you can always find a great jewellery piece for an affordable price,or just enjoy a “window shop”.
A lovely gift shop is ByKim in Rose Bay.
Favourite wet weather location:
Rugged up at home!
Describe an ideal day in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for you?
A coastal walk with my family followed by Brunch at a local cafe. A Browse through a local market followed by an ice cream at Anita’s Gelato Bondi or French Riviera Gelato Double Bay.
What area of the east have you yet to explore much but would like to?
Around La Perouse and the National Parks there.
