To celebrate Father’s Day we are featuring a local Dad.   Meet Grant Lyndon from Waverley or otherwise known as Busydads on social media and his top tips for fatherhood in Sydney’s east.

Where and how long have you lived in Sydney’s east:

We live in Waverley, we love it here because it’s close to our favourite beach & the parklands.

How many children:

Four children aged 9, 7, 2, 1. BBGB.

Favourite Park:

Queens Park, it’s our backyard

Favourite Beach:

Bronte. We belong to the surf club, the boys do nippers, and we just love the feeling of paradise that Bronte beach brings.

Favourite kid friendly cafe:

Ruby’s Diner on Bronte Road

Favourite Coffee Spot:

It’s a tie between Ruby’s Diner & Harry’s Espresso in Bondi. Both super dedicated to specialty coffee & passionate about excellence. The staff are also a massive part of why we go.

Favourite date night place:

On date night we start with a thai massage at Palm on Bondi Rd, then dinner. Last couple of great meals were at China Doll & Sushi Yachiyo in Darlinghurst.

Favourite Local Day Out Activity:

Family wise is summer we always at the beach. Either down by the Bogey Hole in Bronte or more recently at Maroubra. In Spring & Autumn we love just hanging in the parklands or taking a drive south side through the national park & maybe stop along the way for a picnic or a swim.

Favourite Local Shop:

Daryl’s Gourmet Meats in Randwick. Pasture fed & freerange meats and THE BEST sausages we’ve ever known. Not to mention the great family/local feel and wonderful staff.

Favourite wet weather location:

Cuddles in our loungeroom. Then a close second is any puddle we can find.

Describe an ideal day in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for you?

Start off with a surf or swim then head to buy some produce at either Bondi Growers or Just Organics in Bondi Junction. Cook up some lunch before putting the bubbas down for their sleep then hangin in the backyard with our tribe. Kicking a ball or cycling through centennail park then an early dinner & cuddles on the couch with the family. Once the kids are all tucked up in bed, then it’s either a massage swap with my wife and/or our latest fave netflix series.

Work or SAHD:

I’m an actor and voice over artist. I’m also the founder of Busydads. A resource for dad’s who want to give more to themselves & in turn their loved ones. We cover meditation, fitness/nutrition, parenting & birth education, and relationship mastery.

Fatherly advice :

Be patient and really listen to your children. They all have such unique ways of telling & showing you what they need and how they feel. and most importantly be in alignment with Mum. This is a recipe for great harmony & success in the home.
