If you’re wondering where to get your child started on cricket this October, look no further! Cricket NSW is bringing a variety of tailored Woolworths Cricket Blast programs to Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.
The following cricket clubs will be starting Cricket Blast programs for children aged 5-10 years in October, with other programs to follow later in the year:
- · Sydney Coastal Cricket Club at Heffron Park
- · South Sydney Mount Carmel Junior Cricket Club at Booralee Park
- · Randwick Junior Cricket Club at Coogee Oval
- · Eastern Suburbs Junior Cricket Club at Waverley Oval
All of these programs will run through the 2024-25 cricket season, on specific dates after school hours and on weekends. Visit Play Cricket to know more and find a club near you.
Everyone who registers to this season’s Cricket Blast and junior cricket programs will receive a one-game membership to a designated bay for the Sydney Sixers vs Perth Scorchers BBL match on January 11, 2025.
Woolworths Cricket Blast is the ultimate playground for kids of all abilities where the action is fast and the fun never stops. Whether you’re a first-time batter or backyard cricket superstar, Cricket Blast is an exciting journey for 5-10 year-olds filled with laughter, growth, and unforgettable memories.
The jam-packed weekly 60 to 90-minute sessions are designed to get children to learn the skills of cricket through fun, modified games in a safe and inclusive environment. All equipment is provided, and children wear shirts that have their name printed on them, to feel like a cricket star on TV.
Woolworths Cricket Blast is also the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your children, and for parents and carers who want to be involved to learn some
new cricket skills along the way. Plus, your involvement can make a positive impact on their enjoyment, skill progression and overall achievement.
Cricket Blast is offered in a variety of formats, from mixed programs to girls-only programs to all-abilities Cricket Blast. Last year, during the 2023-24 season, a remarkable 32,000 children enrolled into Woolworths Cricket Blast to play and love the sport. Of these, over 10,000 were girls.
Woolworths’ ongoing support of Cricket Blast often goes above and beyond our partnership details and Cricket NSW is very grateful for the support. Many of the programs in earlier seasons received free fruit and water from the local Woolworths stores, enabling our cricket staff to provide healthy snacks for our participants, making it a truly wholesome experience.
So come join the fun at Woolworths Cricket Blast!
