Sandstone to Steel Tour (Saturdays at 11am & Sundays at 1:30pm) 

Want a general crash course in Cockatoo Island’s history? Book tickets for the Sandstone to Steel Tour  and learn about the island’s different uses across time. As you visit visually arresting landmarks, the guide will introduce you to the island’s colourful cast of real-life characters.

Dark Past Tour (Select Saturdays at 6:30pm)

This intrigue-filled adventure blends history with mystery to captivate the imaginations of parents and children alike. As the tour concludes at night, why not make a weekend of it with an overnight stay in the island’s campground .

The ‘BYO tent’ option is ideal for families on a budget or you can select the basic Camping Package for a pre-erected tent that sleeps two adults and two children.

Lower Island Tour (Sundays at 11am)

The Lower Island Tour is ideal sightseeing activity for families with less mobile members. As you explore the lower island, including the cathedral-like Turbine Shop and convict-built Fitzroy Dock, a guide will paint a vivid picture of the island throughout the ages.
