A Day Out Designed for Dogs and Their Humans
Dog Days Out brings together some genuinely useful pet information with activities that make it feel more like a family day out than an information session.
There’ll be opportunities to learn about dog behaviour, health, wellbeing and responsible pet ownership, while meeting other local dog owners and their furry companions.
For kids who adore animals, it’s also an opportunity to spend the morning surrounded by dogs.

Give Your Dog a Free Health Check
One of the most useful reasons to come along is the opportunity to connect with a local veterinary clinic for a free dog health check-up.
Even when our dogs seem perfectly happy and healthy, a general check can be a useful opportunity to ask questions about their health and wellbeing.
And unlike humans, your dog probably isn’t going to remind you that they’re due for a check-up.
Get the Kids Involved Too
This isn’t just an outing for adults and dogs.
Waverley Council’s Library team will be bringing along arts and crafts activities, giving younger members of the family something creative to do as part of the morning.
It makes Dog Days Out an easy option if you’re looking for something different to do with the kids while still including your pet.
You can learn something about looking after the dog, the kids can get creative, and your dog can concentrate on the important business of sniffing absolutely everything.
Learn a Few New Dog Tricks – For the Humans
Sometimes dog training is really human training in disguise.
Educational sessions at Dog Days Out will cover areas including canine behaviour, training, health and wellbeing, helping owners better understand their pets.
Whether you’ve got a beautifully behaved family dog or one who suddenly appears to forget their name whenever something interesting happens across the park, there could be something useful to take home.
It’s also a nice opportunity for children to learn that having a dog isn’t only about cuddles and games.
