Clean Up Australia Day is held on the first Sunday of March every year and encourages people to clean up their local areas. Participants can host or attend clean ups organised by local community groups, which can be found on the Clean Up Australia website.
The annual Clean Up Australia Day was first started 20 years ago by founder and Chairman Ian Kiernan AO, who passed away on 16 October 2018. More than 21 Million Australians have devoted 38.5 million hours to cleaning up the environment, through Clean Up Australia Day.
