International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Each year, Randwick City Council hosts an art exhibition in honour of International Women’s Day. The competition is open to female artists. Encouraging women to showcase their creative talents, recognising the important contribution women make to families, workplaces and communities. Randwick and Waverley Councils promote Float to Survive message this summer

Randwick and Waverley Councils are joining forces again this summer to help reduce the record number of drownings in Australia by encouraging people to “Float to Survive”. Float to Survive is a pilot water safety campaign launched by the two councils last December (2022) in partnership with the University of NSW (UNSW) Beach Safety Research Group (BSRG) to promote floating as the best chance of survival for swimmers who get into trouble in the water.
