The 3-Councils of Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick operate an electric vehicle (EV) charging network of 25 chargers, which continues to expand as the uptake of EVs in the east doubles year on year. North Bondi Shops and Bus Terminus consultation gets the green light

Waverley Council has voted to publicly exhibit the concept design for the North Bondi Shops and Bus Terminus Upgrade and to encourage community feedback. Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos said the project aims to make this key tourism, leisure and retail destination more functional and aesthetically pleasing for our residents, local businesses and visitors. Randwick Council update on Captain Cook statue

The repair and removal of graffiti from a statue of Captain Cook in Randwick is underway with Randwick Council confirming that the statue will not be removed. Randwick Councillors met for an Extraordinary Council Meeting on Monday 11 March 2024 to discuss the issue. The statue, situated on the corner of Belmore Road and Avoca Streets in Randwick, was vandalised on 15 February with part of the sandstone damaged and the statue partially covered with red paint. Randwick council rejects proposed housing reforms

Randwick expresses ‘serious apprehensions’ about State Government top-down approach to housing reform NSW Government housing reforms that would deliver an estimated 20,000 new homes in Randwick City over the next 20 years have been strongly rejected by Randwick Council in a submission endorsed by Councillors at their meeting on Tuesday 27 February 2024. The low and mid-rise reforms would see up to 6-storey (21m) development permitted within 800m of light rail stations or town centres with a supermarket.
