At Bear in Mind we are striving to create a safe space for children to flourish and grow strong in mind, body and soul. Bear in Mind is run by two primary school teachers who are passionate about the mental health of children.
At Bear in Mind, we are offering the Peaceful kids program which is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children. This program helps children to build their emotional resilience, so they are better equipped to deal with the day-to-day stresses that life brings them. The program also involves parental involvement and commitment to supporting the strategies at home. Peaceful Kids is an 8-week program for a small group of primary aged children.
Aside from running the Peaceful Kids program outside of school hours for specific groups of children, we are also going to be running it in schools. If you have a school in mind that you would like us to collaborate with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Along with the Peaceful Kids program, we will be running the Peaceful Parents program. This program is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based parenting program to increase resilience in both parents and their children. ‘Peaceful Parents’ is a strength-based parenting 4 session workshop that is engaging, practical and supportive for parents. Parents learn strategies to lessen stress, enjoy parenting more as well as learning practical strategies to build resilience in their children.
Alongside our programs, we are hoping to run Mindful Hours, Yoga Classes for children, ‘Mommy/Daddy and Me’ yoga classes, Book Club, Breathwork for children and Journaling sessions. If you have any suggestions for other activities or classes that you would like to see incorporated into Bear in Mind, please reach out and let us know. We would love to hear your suggestions!
