If you have a 10+ year old who loves pop music, getting creative and hanging out with friends, Waverley Library has a school holiday activity that might earn you some serious parenting points.

As part of Waverley Council’s School Holiday Program, the library is hosting a Zara Larsson Party – an hour of music, creativity, face art and pop-star fun inspired by the Swedish pop superstar.

And this one feels particularly perfect for tween and teen girls looking for something fun to do with their friends during the holidays.

Grab Your Friends and Make a Morning of It

Taking place on Wednesday 7 October, the Zara Larsson Party is aimed at ages 10 years and over.

Rather than another activity that feels designed for little kids, this is a chance for older kids to get together, listen to music and enjoy activities inspired by Zara Larsson’s music and style.

Expect music, creative activities, face art and plenty of pop-star fun throughout the morning.

If your daughter and her friends already have Zara Larsson songs on their playlists, even better.

A Fun School Holiday Catch-Up for Tweens

Finding school holiday activities becomes a little trickier as kids get older.

They might have outgrown some of the traditional craft sessions and children’s entertainment, but they’re not quite at the stage where you want them disappearing into the city for the day either.

That’s what makes an event like this a great option.

It’s local, social and designed for ages 10+, giving girls an opportunity to meet up with friends and enjoy something that feels a little more grown-up.

It could also be a fun excuse to organise a mini school holiday outing – invite a couple of friends, head to the party and then grab lunch or something sweet together in Bondi Junction afterwards.

Channel Your Inner Pop Star

You certainly don’t need to arrive looking like you’re about to step onto a concert stage, but kids who love fashion and pop culture might enjoy dressing up for the occasion.

Add a favourite outfit, a little sparkle and some pop-star attitude and they’re ready to go.

Once there, the face art and creative activities add to the party atmosphere.

And, of course, there’s the music.

If your daughter has a few Zara Larsson-loving friends, send the event around to the other mums and organise for them to go together.

An hour of music, creativity, face art and pop-star fun – followed by a girls’ lunch or treat in Bondi Junction – sounds like a pretty good school holiday morning to us.

So, Zara Larsson fans, gather your friends. Waverley Library is turning up the pop-star energy these spring school holidays.
