Halloween at South Eveleigh

Looking for something a little spooky, a little magical and a whole lot of fun to do with the kids this Halloween? South Eveleigh is getting into the Halloween spirit with a special celebration inspired by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland.

From Tuesday 20 October to Saturday 31 October 2026, South Eveleigh is inviting Sydney families to step through the looking glass and discover a precinct transformed for Halloween.

With a playful Wonderland-inspired theme, the celebrations offer families an opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of Halloween, explore one of Sydney’s most interesting urban precincts and make some fun memories together.

A Halloween Wonderland in the Heart of Sydney

Forget the ordinary Halloween outing! This October, South Eveleigh is embracing a world where imagination meets Halloween magic.

Inspired by the idea of stepping through the looking glass, the seasonal celebration brings a whimsical twist to the traditional spooky season.

For families with young children, it’s an opportunity to dress up, get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy an outing beyond the usual trick-or-treating around the neighbourhood.

Whether your little ones love witches and pumpkins or prefer the imaginative world of Alice in Wonderland, the theme offers plenty of inspiration for a family Halloween adventure.

Make a Family Day Out of It

One of the great things about visiting South Eveleigh is that there’s plenty to discover beyond the Halloween festivities.

The precinct is home to the historic Locomotive Workshop, inviting public spaces and a collection of cafés and restaurants.

Families can enjoy a wander through the precinct, stop for a bite to eat or treat the kids to something sweet.

Some of the dining options include The Grounds Coffee Factory, Anita Gelato and Kurtosh, making it easy to turn your Halloween visit into a relaxed family outing.

There’s also Eveleigh Green, a spacious outdoor area where children can enjoy some fresh air and families can take a break between activities.

Getting There with the Kids

South Eveleigh is conveniently located near Redfern Station, making it accessible for families travelling from across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

For those travelling by train, Redfern Station is approximately 200 metres from the precinct. Pram-friendly access is available via the lift and ramp near the Bell Tower.

Driving instead? The car park at 2 Central Avenue offers two hours of free parking, with charges applying after that.

The precinct also has accessible bathrooms and dedicated parents’ rooms, which can make a big difference when heading out with babies, toddlers or preschoolers.
