The countdown to summer is officially on, and for families across the east, that means one important thing: school holiday planning. With the next school break running from 22 December to 26 January 2026, Waverley Council has opened bookings for its hugely popular Summer School Holiday Program — and spots are expected to fill fast.
Designed for children aged 3 to 12, this year’s program brings together an exciting mix of creative workshops, live performances, art classes, active play and hands-on experiences, all led by Waverley Council’s specialist staff, professional artists, industry experts and partner organisations.
Whether your child loves to paint, perform, explore or create, there’s something inspiring for every age and interest.
What’s On This Summer
Performance at Bondi Pavilion
Bondi Pavilion will once again be a hub of holiday magic, featuring:
-
WAVERIDER – a brand-new outdoor show filled with surf culture, acrobatics and high-energy performance, staged on the Pavilion steps.
-
Deep Sea Divers – a weekend of whimsical roving puppetry and under-the-sea inspired fun, complete with interactive performances and creative children’s workshops.
These performances are a highlight of the summer and perfect for families looking for free, easy local entertainment by the beach.
Creative Workshops with WWAS
Kids aged 6 and up can join the Waverley Woollahra Art School (WWAS) for a wide selection of art workshops. These sessions allow children to explore:
-
Drawing and charcoal
-
Painting
-
Clay and sculpture
-
Mixed media
-
Printmaking and more
It’s a hands-on, confidence-boosting way to help young creatives develop new skills during the break.
Safe, Supported and Easy to Book
All programs operate under Waverley Council’s Code of Conduct, ensuring a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for every child. Both free and paid activities are available, making it easy to build a holiday plan that suits your family’s budget.
This year, bookings are managed through Humanitix — and because the program is in high demand, families are encouraged to book as early as possible to avoid missing out.
