Woollahra Council is upgrading Robertson Park Playground to make it more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.
They’ve created a draft plan for the playground based on community feedback. The idea was to create a playground which can cater for kids in many different age groups and with differing abilities.
Top of the list in what people asked for were more swings and new slides! People also asked for natural play features and more play equipment.
Council listened to community feedback and created a draft which includes a range of play equipment, a bigger area, more challenging equipment for older kids and a number of timber, sandstone and nature-inspired elements.
Some of the proposed play elements include: a tall climbing tower with rope nets and giant tunnel slide targeted to children aged 8+, a smaller climbing structure with rope net and slide for younger children, a natural jungle balance rope and a natural rope bridge, a small carousel spinner, a sand-play area, two low timber and rope horizontal climbing nets and a FIVE BAY swing with toddler swing, an all-abilities harness swing, you-and-me Skippy swing, standard swing and a round birds nest swing.
Not only that, but they’re planning to keep some existing favourites already in place at the playground, including the see-saw springer, the bubbler and shade sails.
But they really want the feedback of the parents and kids who use the park, before the Sunday 29 July deadline. Your ideas will go into the final design, with construction planned to begin after the busy school holiday season at the end of the year.

Feedback closes Sunday 27 July.
