Welcome to Miri’s Kindy – Where Little Hearts Grow Big!
Tucked away in the seaside suburb of Coogee, there’s a place where the strengths and capabilities of each child are celebrated, curiosity is nurtured, and tiny hands are busy building the foundations of a big, beautiful future.
Since 2002, Miri’s has been more than just a childcare centre. With an open-door policy and a strong sense of community, you’ll feel like part of the family from day one.
It all started with Miri herself – a passionate early childhood educator (mum of seven and seventeen grandchildren!) who brought her vision of heart-centred education to life. With over 30 years of experience, Miri’s dream was to create a space where children feel deeply loved, respected, gently guided, and endlessly inspired. Where every child matters.
At 107 Brook Street, you’ll find the Crèche – a calm, nurturing sanctuary for the tiniest tots (ages 0–2). Up the road at 121 Brook Street is the Kindy, vibrant and creative for curious 2–5-year-olds. Both centres are warm, welcoming and inclusive.
Miri’s Kindy is known for its high-quality care and education, proudly backed by experienced, long-term educators and low staff turnover, together with a higher educator-to-child ratio means more personal relationships for each child.
Inspired by the EYLF, we encourage children to belong, to be, and to become. From pre-literacy to problem-solving, from emotional intelligence to environmental awareness, every day is packed with play-based learning that prepares children not just for school, but for life. Our School Readiness Program is holistically embedded from the moment your child walks through the doors.
Our all-weather outdoor play area and neighbourhood excursions give children the opportunity to connect with nature and the community while building their confidence and resilience. Embracing the elements is part of the fun—muddy puddles, gumboots, and raincoats are welcomed as essential tools for learning and discovery.
