The South Maroubra Ocean Swim is an annual event at Maroubra Beach.
The South Maroubra Ocean Swim is organised by the South Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club and is a vital part of the fund-raising activities of the Club, where entry fees contribute to the purchase of vital lifesaving equipment required by our volunteer Lifesavers.
This year’s event Sunday 23th April 2023 features three race courses, 500m, 1km and 2.5 km. Each course will commence and end at the south end of the beach.
The first event for the day is the 500m swim for ages 9 to 12. Followed by the 1km and then the 2.5km swims open for 13 years of age and above.
Most summer Sundays you’ll find a party atmosphere at South Maroubra. So for our annual ocean swim, we’re going all out to ensure a great day. The BBQ will be firing from dawn along with the tunes, and a live band from 12.30pm. With massage tents thanks to Switch Physio, ice baths provided by Recoverie Coogee and post-swim fruit from Parisi’s it’s clearly a healthy choice to stay around and make a day of it.
Prizes from Switch, Recoverie, Look, Delfina, Budgy Smuggler and Engine are on offer for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for all ages as well as for elite swimmers, with the main presentation at 12 noon rounding out the formalities.
